Xarelto is an anticoagulant drug manufactured by Janeen and approved by the Federal Drug Administration to treat deep vein thrombosis, blood clots and pulmonary embolism in patients that had underwent knee surgery or hip replacement surgery. The drug was manufactured as a direct alternative to an older anticoagulant called Warfarin. Though it has been relatively successful, the drug has been linked to a number of terrible side effects—among these side effects is the potential for blood clots.
