Annually, thousands of car accidents are caused by motorists that do not brake in time, resulting in colliding into the car in front of them. Additionally, many drivers fail to brake completely at stop signs and red lights, and instead “roll” through these areas. Some drivers even fail to brake at all, running stop signs and red lights completely. This can be due to impatience, not seeing the red light or stop sign in time (or at all), drowsy driving, or driving while under the influence. According to a one-year study conducted by the Fatality Analysis Reporting System, there were 13,627 cars involved in deadly car accidents due to other drivers running a red light or a stop sign.
