Yasmin is simple to manage, as it’s easily taken in pill form after getting a prescription from a physician, and normally it’s taken every day. While there are additional uses for Yasmin, such as for acne in relatively rare situations, Yasmin works by stopping ovulation. It also alters the woman’s cervical and uterine lining, making it more difficult for sperm to reach the uterus and more difficult for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus, thus resulting in a pregnancy. Yasmin was initially approved in May 2001 by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It was marketing all over the world and even resulted in the introduction of other, similar medications that were pretty much classified as generic forms of the original.
