Baycol was manufactured then approved by the FDA in 1997. The drug’s primary use was to treat patients with high cholesterol that are at risk of heart attack and stroke. The drug works by slowing cholesterol production and minimizing artery wall buildup. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before serious side effects began to surface. Among them are:
