Years ago, physicians only heard about two out of every 1,000 births where this disorder was discovered. However, when pregnant women took certain prescription drugs, the new studies showed that the figures increased to approximately six to 12 out of every 1,000 deliveries being diagnosed with PPHN now. If adequate care is not administered to infants with this condition, severe issues can result, and possibly death.
Many have filed claims against medical facilities and/or pharmaceutical companies because their baby developed PPHN, due to dangerous prescription drugs or medical practices that were careless. We have served clients whose babies were born with conditions as a result of specific prescription medications or medical negligence. A wide range of cases have been presented before us related to PPHN with babies as a result of medications taken during pregnancy which women thought would not be dangerous to their health or the health of their unborn baby.
