Throughout the U.S there are thousands of car drivers who are the unfortunate victims of truck accidents. Since passenger vehicles are drastically smaller in size than any large truck, accidents between the two usually result in more damage on the part of the car rather than the truck. Trucks, which can weigh up to 40 tons, can cause severe injuries to the inhabitants of the car, inflicting injuries that can be permanent or even fatal. This makes truck accidents the most dangerous of all vehicle accidents nationwide, due to the amount of weight and force generated by 18 wheeler trucks and other trucks of comparable size.
Some accidents, referred to as side collision or “T-Bone” accidents, occur when a car and truck collide in such a way that one directly hits the others side. This is a devastating type of accident, and in some cases, the driver is on the side of the vehicle that has to endure the impact. With T-Bone accidents, the driver of the smaller vehicle which in this case is the car usually suffers from more bodily harm than the driver of the larger vehicle, being the truck involved in the accident. When this is the case, the driver of the car has the right to file a personal injury claim in order to receive the proper aid and benefits in order to help deal with the long term affects that are caused by severe accidents such as a T-bone accident with a truck driver.
